Is in-store pickup really free?
Yes, it's free at all 6 Modern Mattress stores in Saskatchewan. No charge whether you're picking up a single pillow or a full sleep system. We help you load.
What size truck do I need?
Half-ton or larger handles a King flat in the bed. Queen fits cleanly in most full-size and mid-size pickups. Twin/Twin XL fits in most mid-size SUVs with seats folded. Full/Queen needs a large SUV with the rear hatch open.
Can you hold the mattress for me to come back later?
Yes. Tell the team you'd like to tag your order, and we'll confirm size, model, and firmness, reserve a new unit, and have it ready the day you swing back. No restocking fee. Popular with out-of-town pickup customers.
Is every mattress in stock for same-day pickup?
Not always. Floor models are for testing. Pickup depends on whether your size and model are in stock at that specific store. If they are, we load you up the same day. If not, we reserve a new unit from inventory and book the next pickup or delivery at no extra fee, with no second fitting.
Can you ship the mattress to my closest store?
Yes. If your size and model aren't in stock at the store closest to home, we can have it sent from another Modern Mattress location to the store of your choice for pickup, so you only drive to one store, once. The team will confirm timing in-store before you pay.
What if it doesn't fit?
The team will tell you honestly before you pay. If your vehicle won't take a Queen or King flat, we either fold-bag it for the trip (not all collections bend safely, and we'll say so) or quote out-of-town delivery instead.
Will the warranty still apply if I pick it up?
Yes. Same 100 Night Sleep Guarantee, and the same warranty coverage by collection (up to 10 years), as a delivered mattress. Keep the heavy-duty transport bag on for the drive home and the mattress arrives clean and protected.
Why pickup instead of delivery?
If you're already coming into the city, pickup saves the delivery fee entirely. Out-of-town delivery beyond 100 km is quoted by distance, so pickup is the simple, free, same-day option.
How does in-store pickup work?
Walk in or book a free 30-minute Discovery Experience. Get fitted to the right firmness, then pay at the till. If the size and model you bought are in stock at that store, the team helps you load it into your truck or trailer the same day. If not, we reserve a new unit from inventory and book the next pickup or delivery at no extra fee.
Will the mattress fit in my SUV?
It depends on the model. A Twin or Twin XL fits in most mid-size SUVs with seats folded. A Full or Queen needs a large SUV with the rear hatch. Kings and complete adjustable-base systems need a truck or trailer. We'll tell you honestly what'll fit before you pay.
What if I damage the mattress on the drive home?
Modern Mattress mattresses are sold in heavy-duty plastic bags for transport. As long as you keep the bag on, the mattress is protected from rain, dirt, and tie-down marks. The 100 Night Sleep Guarantee and your warranty coverage (by collection, up to 10 years) apply to picked-up mattresses the same as delivered ones.
